Architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte created a puzzling 33-piece case for this very unusual watch which viewers (including me) will most probably never understand. With Jean-Michel’s architectural masterpiece, Jerome de Witt throws us into a deeper enigmatic sea with his design of the time piece. The movement is supported by a vertical flying tourbillion and five barrel springs. The five main barrel springs are placed in a way to provide maximal power between the rings and the strategically placed shafts. The discs are placed in a round place holder and it is pulled outside like a drawer to view the time. Main springs are charged by a winding mechanism that can provide power for 21 days. Whether an art piece or a time device, De Witt’s WX-1 watch completely stands out of any crowd, especially with a price tag of $650,000 US.
